Ms. Diana will be teaching sewing and knitting at Juniper Tree. Diana has a Bachelor’s degree in Developmental Psychology, a minor in Social Work, and over a decade of experience working with children and youth in diverse settings; including schools, family shelters, group homes, counseling agencies, and tutoring centers.
Diana learned to sew and knit while growing up and now, as a homeschooling mom, values their practical and therapeutic benefits. Beyond the joy of creating, these skills help our children develop hand-eye coordination, the ability to focus, follow directions, and pay attention-to-detail. They also require patience and perseverance, and are useful life skills.
Diana is excited to give students the opportunity to immerse themselves in this creative process, and experience the satisfaction of do-it-yourself sewing/knitting projects.
