Launching with 9th Grade Fall 2027
Traditional College Prep Pathway
Juniper Tree’s Traditional College-Prep Pathway uses UC A–G-approved online coursework through Silicon Valley High School as the academic foundation for our live, in-person classes. Students work through the SVHS curriculum as part of their regular Juniper school day, with teachers there to explain concepts, guide assignments, and provide hands-on labs, discussions, writing, and project-based learning that bring the material to life.
How It Works
Students complete UC A–G-approved online coursework through Silicon Valley High School, which provides the official grading, high school credit, and transcript. At Juniper Tree, those courses come to life through live instruction, hands-on learning, creative projects, labs, discussions, and collaborative work. Our teachers help students understand the material, stay on track with their SVHS coursework, and explore subjects in a more meaningful, engaging way.

For Ocean Grove families, SVHS is also an approved Ocean Grove vendor, allowing students to remain enrolled with Ocean Grove while completing SVHS courses as part of their high school program, with those credits reflected on their Ocean Grove transcript.

Live Instruction At Juniper Tree
Juniper teachers bring the SVHS curriculum to life through live teaching, discussion, hands-on learning, labs, writing, and creative project-based experiences. These activities are woven into the regular class day and connected directly to what students are already learning through SVHS, allowing them to explore the material more deeply without creating a separate second workload.

For Math, the emphasis will be on clear instruction, guided practice, problem solving, and individual support, while Science, English, and History will naturally include more discussion, creativity, collaboration, and hands-on learning.
Weekly Academics
Students attend four separate core academic classes each week. Mornings are dedicated to core academics.

Each subject is taught as its own class with dedicated instructional time. Students also have built-in time during the Juniper day to complete required SVHS coursework, get teacher support, and stay on pace.

Afternoons are reserved for electives, enrichment, and project-based learning, with offerings such as Theatre, Fine Arts, Entrepreneurship, Media/Journalism, Culinary Arts, Robotics, Design, and other rotating electives.
Juniper High School Experience
High school at Juniper Tree is designed to be more than academics. Students learn in a small, supportive community with PE, lunch with peers, electives, hands-on learning, creative projects, field trips, special events, and opportunities for educational travel—including international experiences.

The goal is to give students the flexibility of homeschooling while still providing the structure, friendships, shared experiences, and sense of community of an in-person high school.
